Weda Skog is in the lumber business providing saw mills in the region with timber. The company also provides forestry services and advice for forest owners. The company, based in Karlstad, Sweden, has 84 employees and a turn-over of €200M per year.

Timber and forestry services company Weda Skog has for years been using strong authentication to secure access to Citrix for their staff and contractors. Employees have been using physical tokens while contractors have been using SMS based authentication. When Nordic Edge released Pledge, Weda Skog saw the possibility to save time and money by using mobile phones instead of the physical tokens. Pledge turns the mobile phone into a security token, generating one-time passwords for secure log-in. Pledge removes the need for physical tokens.

Now Weda Skog is using the Nordic Edge™ One Time Password Server and the mobile client Pledge which means that employees use the mobile phone as a security token while contractors use SMS based authentication. The system allows Weda Skog to choose which authentication method to use for their employees and contractors.
